Which Anua serum is right for you? Four serums in comparison
Pink, milky, green or turquoise: Anua now has several serums next to each other that perform very different tasks. Before making a decision, it is helpful to ask a very specific question: Do you want to care for uneven-looking areas, gently accompany redness and impurities, more moisture or a plumper glow?
The selection is not yet a skin test. But your skin gets direction. A serum should take on a task for which there is actually room in your current routine.
Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4%: when skin tone is the focus
The Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Serum is aimed at people who want to cosmetically care for the appearance of dark spots and uneven skin tone. TXA is the abbreviation for tranexamic acid. The manufacturer states ten percent niacinamide and four percent TXA. There are also arbutin and moisture-binding components.
The texture is described by Anua as light and watery. This can be pleasant if there is only room for a thin layer under the usual cream. Glycerin, hyaluronic components and ceramides are also in the list of ingredients. So even a serum tailored to your skin tone consists of more than just its two eye-catching numbers.
The ten percent is not a promise that this serum is better suited to every skin type than a lower concentration. Maybe your toner or cream already contains niacinamide. Our article “Niacinamide: When it suits your routine” helps you take a look at the products available. If you are already satisfied with that, you don’t need another bottle just because of the larger number.
7 Rice Ceramide: if you want more care comfort
The Anua 7 Rice Ceramide Hydrating Barrier Serum focuses on moisture and the routine of the skin barrier. The light, gel-like texture combines rice ingredients with glycerin, panthenol, ceramides and hyaluronic ingredients.
If your skin seems dry during the day and you want to try an additional layer of moisture under your cream, this is the more obvious approach. The serum takes over the easy intermediate step. Whether the cream on top should be rich or light still depends on what your skin feels comfortable with.
A little surprise on the back: the Rice serum also contains niacinamide. The two products are therefore not strictly separate worlds of active ingredients. Their different focus is more helpful for selection than the idea of “here active ingredients, there just rice”. If tightness or burning is your actual concern, it is worth reading our article about the skin barrier . A skin feel like this cannot be explained solely by choosing a new serum.
The green Azelaic serum: when redness and impurities come together
The green Anua Azelaic Acid 10 Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum is the most interesting supplement if your skin quickly appears restless, tends to redness or clogged pores are an issue. According to Anua, its color comes from the formulation; it is not an artificially added scent or show effect.
The focus is on ten percent azelaic acid. There are also panthenol, beta-glucan, centella components, hyaluronic acid and ceramides. This does not automatically make the serum “gentle for everyone”: ten percent azelaic acid can be noticeable, especially at the beginning. Therefore, start a few evenings a week, use only a small amount at first and do not combine it with a new acid peel or retinoid on the same evening.
If you’re looking for moisture above all else, this serum would be unnecessarily complicated. However, if redness, impurities and oily areas occur together, it has a clear role in the routine.
PDRN Hyaluronic Acid: if moisture and a plump glow are your goal
The turquoise-green Anua PDRN Hyaluronic Acid Capsule 100 Serum relies on a different skin feel: light, quickly absorbed moisture and a dewy finish. Anua combines PDRN, various hyaluronic components and hydrolyzed collagen. According to the manufacturer, the PDRN is obtained from salmon DNA; the serum is therefore not a vegan choice.
For dry, dehydrated or tired-looking skin, it is the glow-oriented alternative to the Rice Ceramide Serum. Rice Ceramide feels closer to classic barrier care in terms of content, while PDRN Hyaluronic Acid is more aimed at moisturizing and a plumper-looking finish. You can find more background in our article “PDRN in skincare”.
How to find out which one fits into your everyday life
- Dark spots and uneven skin tone: Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4%.
- Dryness and a weakened skin barrier: 7 Rice Ceramide.
- Redness, impurities and oily areas: Azelaic Acid 10.
- Dehydrated complexion and a plump glow: PDRN Hyaluronic Acid.
A single new product makes observation easier. Apply a little to a small area at first and give your skin time to show off. All four serums belong after toner or essence and before moisturizer. In the morning, sun protection completes the routine.
It is not necessary to immediately layer several of these serums on top of each other to make the decision. Choose the product whose purpose you can name in one sentence. This makes it much easier for you to see whether your routine is really adding value.
