What do C, N and W mean in TIRTIR?

• C – Cool: cool undertone.
• N – Neutral: neutral classified undertone.
• W – Warm: warm undertone.

These names help with sorting. However, redness on the cheeks is not automatically your undertone. Compare the transition from face to neck and use a foundation whose color already suits you well. N is also a neutral classification and not a color that automatically suits every skin type.

21C, 21N and 21W: same number, different color

In our range the three colors are called 21C Cool Ivory , 21N Ivory and 21W Natural Ivory . They belong to the same group of numbers, but differ in their undertone. Therefore, a sold-out 21N cannot automatically be replaced with 21C or 21W.

Numbers are not standardized between brands either. If you wear a 21 with another foundation, that is not a reliable assignment to TIRTIR 21N. Product line and full color name are always included.

How to narrow down your color tone

1. Start with your current color. Write down the brand, exact foundation line and shade of a product that fits you well along the neck. This is more helpful than just “fair skin.”
2. Compare brightness and undertone separately. If a foundation looks too dark, the brightness is an issue. If it looks too pink or too yellow, the undertone may be unsuitable.
3. Use multiple views. Product photos and real swatches can narrow down the selection. However, different light, camera adjustment and screen display change the color impression.
4. Test a small amount on your skin if you get the chance. Compare from the jaw to the neck, let the foundation settle and assess it in neutral daylight. When making a purchase decision, this impression counts more than the color directly in the cushion.

Do I have to buy the Red Cushion lighter?
