Does my skin need different care in winter?
You don’t need to switch products just because the season changes. If your skin feels comfortable with your current routine, you can stick with it. Tight cheeks or rough patches, on the other hand, are a good reason to take a closer look: cold outdoor air and dry indoor heating can take a toll on your skin in winter.
It often helps to wash for less time, with lukewarm rather than hot water, and to apply your moisturizer right afterwards. If your light summer moisturizer no longer feels like enough, a richer texture may suit you better – the ETUDE Soon Jung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream is one example. You can start by applying it only to the dry areas instead of using more everywhere.
Please don’t automatically exfoliate away flaky patches; irritated winter skin often needs a break from that step. If cracks don’t heal, or you have severe itching or pain, see a doctor. Sunscreen still matters on cold days, especially if you spend a long time outdoors or in the snow.
